Congratulations to Gillian Ball on completing The Great North Run on 18 September 2005, exactly one year to the day after her Lap band procedure. Gillian completed the 13.1 miles (half a marathon) in 3hr 1min. Although she only received one medal for the Great North Run she deserves another for her weight-loss achievement of 45kgs as her before- and after- Lap band surgery photographs show.
